Before, During, and After

Before

1: It might hurt, prepare for pain, but hope it wont be bad.

2: There will be blood... and ink... Don't wear white anything. Wear clean clothes, but not your best clothes.

3: Tattoo shops are not a place for kids. We use profanity, we need to focus, and we don't have a nanny here.

4: Dress accordingly for your location. Bring or wear shorts for leg tattoos... Don't wear a dress for a hip tattoo...

5: Make sure you eat and drink before your tattoo. (not alcohol, just be hydrated)

6: Be CLEAN, do not come to get tattooed straight from work covered in dirt. Go home and shower first.

7: Respect your appointment time. If you're running late please call, and please don't be too early if possible.

8: Bring ear buds if you need them, don't use your phone speakers to listen to your music or videos over ours.

9: Use the bathroom before we start, and ask for a break if you need one, don't be afraid to ask me to stop?

10: Please inform me of any blood thinners or medications you may be on prior to starting or booking tattoos.

11: Please give at least 48 hours notice to reschedule an appointment.

12: SPEAK UP. Your tattoo is permanent, let me know if you want to make changes before we start.

13: If your skin isn't healthy it won't hold ink. We cannot tattoo over Sunburn, Psoriasis, rashes, or acne.

14. Adjust your schedule. Please do not schedule other appointments after your tattoo, never RUSH a tattoo.

15. Plan Accordingly. Your tattoo needs to heal for a couple weeks before swimming, or contact sports.

16: You can usually bring one person with you, but space is limited, especially at conventions.

17: If you smoke, please wash your hands before we start, especially if the tattoo is on the arms.

18: Be prepared for payment, I do not take cards. I currently take CashApp, Venmo, Cash, and barter occasionally.          19: Please inform me if you have any Sensory Issues or Special Needs prior to your appointment.

20: Please inform me if you have a preferred pronoun, I will do my best to remember but I am sorry in advance if I forget.

During

1: If you feel sick, dizzy, or light headed... Let me know.

2: If you have to sneeze, cough, or move in any way, let me know WITHOUT moving first.

3: Let me know if you need to use the bathroom at any point.

4: Please limit vaping to fruit smelling vapes, medical vapes, and no large clouds. Tobacco smelling vapes must be used outside

5: Please limit your cellphone use, especially if the tattoo is on your arm.

6: Please don't take offense to any music or movies played in the shops or conventions.

7: Please inform me if you need a break for any reason. I tend to work straight through for several hours if not asked to stop.

8: Please do your best to stay as still as possible while the needle is in your skin and wait for the needle to pull away to move.

9: Please do your best to stay in the position we put you in, this usually speeds up the tattoo for everyone.

10: Please don't touch anything on, or place anything on artist stations without asking first.

Aftercare - Standard Bandage

1: Take the bandage off when you get home, please only do this in your own clean bathroom.

2: Wash the tattoo with soap and water, some areas its easiest to just shower to wash the tattoo.

3: Apply pressure while washing, I know it hurts, but you have to ACTUALLY wash it off, not just rinse it.

4: Keep your tattoo Clean and Lightly Moisturized.

5: Do NOT use excessive ointment or over wash the tattoo, less is more.

6: Avoid swimming, hot tubs, or soaking in a bath. Showers are fine, and recommended.

7: Avoid direct sunlight or tanning. You do not want sunburn on a fresh tattoo.

8: Change your sheets if you have pets, dander can infect tattoos.

9: Avoid covering your tattoos while they are healing so nothing sticks to them.

10: Do not pick at your tattoo, it is normal for tattoos to scab or flake, let them heal without pulling at scabs.

11: If ANYTHING you apply to the tattoo irritates the tattoo in any way, wash that off and avoid using it.

12: Please call the shop, or message me directly if you have any other questions or concerns during healing.

13: If you already have an aftercare process that works for you, stick with it.

Aftercare - Derm Shield

1: Leave it alone. As long as there is no irritation, such as a rash or burning, or as long as it isnt leaking... Leave it alone.

2: Shower like normal and stay clean, but STILL avoid swimming. Those bandages are NOT designed to allow you to swim.

3: If a larger than comfortable pocket of fluid develops, you can remove the bandage if its uncomfortable, or drain the fluid.

4: You can keep the bandage on for 3-5 days, but never more than 5 days. Peel off slowly under warm water, soap helps.

5: If the seal breaks on the bandage at all before you were planning to take it off, peal it off as soon as the seal breaks.

6: If you feel like the bandage is burning, itching, or irriating in any way, remove the bandage.

7. Once the bandage is removed keep the tattoo clean and LIGHTLY moisturized.

Regardless of bandage style I personally recommend staying away from petroleum products when the bandage stage is over. I also tell people that if you have a method that has worked well for other tattoos, stick with it. After the initial healing period your tattoo is still fresh, so stay away from excessive sun or tanning without using high quality sunscreen on the tattoo. Sunscreen is recommended even years after the tattoo to keep it looking fresh. I still have 10 year old tattoos out there that look nearly as bright as they did the day they were done, because those customers take care of their investment. Don't let your asshole friends smack it, that can effect the healed tattoo. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS CONTACT ME, DON'T AS YOUR FRIENDS, YOURE FAMILY, OR GOOGLE... PLEASE
